About Dr. Porter's Special Topics Class

During the height of Black Mirror's popularity, Dr. Porter offered an elective class in which students dove into the world of Black Mirror. This Netflix series features stand-alone episodes chronicling dramas that explore the societal anxiety of media and technological advances.  In this class, we watched Black Mirror episodes and discussed the ideas and theories posed by the show while tracking various trends about the future of media and writing reflections on each episode.  For the final project, students created their own concept and wrote a treatment for an episode of black mirror that reflected their own view of the future.
